Hey folks!

Thanks for supporting us through a great summer! The DRT had a blast trucking around to all the outdoor gigs. And we're not done. We have some nice shows in the fall as well. We're talking Fryeburg Fair time! Dave will be at the fair on two separate days, Monday and Saturday (though there is a rumor that he may crash one of Denny Breau's gigs on Friday too). Oh, one more thing about the fair -- Monday is the big day -- Dave's first gig will be with Denny Breau and Frank Coffin on the gazebo (Now there's a rare line up. Do not miss that one!!), and will be finishing out the day with the DRT in Water Wheel Park. Be sure and check it all out on the schedule.

COMING UP THIS WEEKEND...On Sunday Dave and his family will be participating in the Cancer Community Center's annual Hit the Trails fundraiser. They are walking in memory of Dave's dad, Tom, and also in celebration of Dave's wife, Kimberly's CCC Mindful Meditation group attendees: past, present, and future. Please consider sponsoring us as we walk to raise money for this great cause which brings hope and support to so many. Visit http://www.firstgiving.com/ourfamilyrox for more information and/or to lend your support.

The last weekend of September (26, 27, 28), Dave will be driving down to Bethlehem, PA to Celtic Classic to crash a couple of sets of his good friend, Seamus Kennedy. Visit Seamus's website for more info about when. Come on over and say hi!

Finally, we have some bittersweet news to share...Ed Howe, fiddler extraordinare of the DRT, has decided with his young family and new house (a serious work in progress), that he would like to spend a little less time on the road and more time with his family. Last month, when he told us, he introduced us to a fabulous mandolin player named Eric McDonald. Eric will be joining us for a few gigs here and there in the near term and will eventually replace Ed at all of our shows. He is really scary-good, and we are looking forward to playing some gigs together. As a matter of fact, Eric will be joining us for the first time at the Fryeburg Fair on Saturday, October 4th and may well be with us in Pawtucket, RI at Stone Soup. We certainly wish Ed well and are enthusiastically looking to the future. We already have a new CD planned for summer 2009 release. Stay tuned!!

See you all soon,
The DRT
