Change is afoot. Last summer Ed sat Kevin and me down and let us know that his personal and family life was suffering too much, what with his day job and the band, and he decided that he had to make some changes. After thinking it through, it made the most sense to him to step out of the Dave Rowe Trio as soon as a suitable replacement was found. About a month later, Ed introduced us to a mandolin player from the Boston area by the name of Eric McDonald. Kevin and I tried Eric out and he seems to be a good fit. He's a good player (and currently learning from the best at Berklee College of Music) and a fun guy to hang with. So while we're sad to see Ed move on, we are very thankful for the over 4 years he dedicated to the trio, and we are proud to welcome Eric to the band. That's right! Dave and the trio are recording a new CD together. We are aiming for a spring or summer 2009 release. Stay tuned!
